History:
The "Souto of Sísamo", capital of the region of Bergantiños was the location of an old tower of which there is no information nowadays. In the year 1672, using the facilities of this tower, the inquisitor Mr. Manuel Sotto de Posse, also doctor at the Royal hospital of Santiago de Compostela, ordered to build one of his manor houses, called "The house of the tower". It was not until one of his daughters got married with a member of the family Montenegro, that the house got the calification of Pazo do Souto " (Palace of Souto).

At the beginning of the last century, the last hereditor died and left all her ownings to his servant Don Manuel. Unfortunately this man didn't have enough capital to maintain the building and saw himself obliged to rent it to several families. In the early fifties it was used as a school. José Taibo Suarez, the actual owner, spent his childhood studying and playing at the Pazo do Souto. After an emigration that lasted 27 years to Switzerland, he bought the house in very bad conditions and rebuilt it into a small country-side hotel. Today, and since 1992 thousands of tourists have enjoyed a comfortable stay at Pazo do Souto.

The rooms
In the present time, it counts on 11 magnificent double rooms of which 6 are considered special ones.

 They are all equipped with complete bathrooms, television and telephone. The special ones are distinguished for their amplitude and by being equipped with Jacuzzi. There is the possibility of adding extra beds in several of the stays.

The philosophy of the Pazo do Souto has been always to obtain the biggest satisfaction of our guest. That's why we try to cover all the needs of our clients.

We count with service of restaurant, the bar becomes an ideal place for a large drink or Queimada (ancient galician drink). In the parlor with chimney you can relax, read or play popular games. Horse routes, bicycle and walking routes or adventure sports are other activities that can be organized from Pazo do Souto. We speak english, german, french and italian.

En el salón con chimenea puede uno relajarse leyendo o divertirse con numerosos juegos a su disposición.

What to see

During the day, the geographical situation permits you to visit comfortably the coast of death or also cities like Santiago de Compostela (44km.) or La Corunna (33 km.) At the hotel you will get turistical information of the area.

What to do

Undoubtedly one of the most required atractions of the area is the gastronomy.
Freshly fished seafood and fish, but also naturaly grown vegetables or the famous galician veal - meat can be enjoyed at our house or at the nearby situated restaurants
